Hey, I'm Nauman ul Haq, and this is myledger—a haven for those who seek clarity in the often mystifying realms of finance, accounting, and investing. But wait, it's not just about the numbers; it's also about the philosophies and frameworks that underpin them.
Who am I? An Accountant and A Lifelong Learner
Born and raised in Pakistan, specifically in Islamabad and Lahore, I moved to Dubai in 2012. I'm a Chartered Accountant by profession, and I received my CFA Charter in 2017, right after my son, Hamza, was born. No, I don't think the two are correlated, but life has its own funny ways of surprising us, doesn't it?
In the early stages of my career, from 2007 to 2014, I delved into public accounting at PwC. Then I decided to transition into the industry, navigating the intricacies of spreadsheets and ledgers.
More important than any of these milestones, though, is my family. My wife, Sana, and our children, Hamza and Anya, are my most significant achievements.
The Genesis of my Writing Journey
Once upon a time, I turned to writing as an emotional outlet to process my thoughts while battling anxiety and anger issues. The pen and paper became my confidantes, helping me untangle the webs in my mind. This practice evolved into a more sophisticated approach to thinking clearly and making informed decisions. Writing, for me, became less of a coping mechanism and more of an intellectual tool.
What's in it for You at myledger?
As I've aged and embraced the joys and challenges of fatherhood, a new philosophy has dawned upon me: There's got to be more to life than just work and climbing the corporate ladder. Although I still revel in the intellectual complexities of finance and accounting, what really drives me these days is the relentless pursuit of personal growth.
